Gary Grossman : NOP

No Ordinary Person 2011 Audio, Take 1

Below are preliminary suggestions for entrance/exit audio for each of the NOP performances on the weekend of October 22. They were chosen by me after reading or hearing each of your draft pieces.

These are rough-cut free quick takes from iTunes; once I know what we're actually going to use, I will purchase higher-quality ones. They may be too short or too long. In most cases, there are no fade-outs or other polishing measures. These will be applied after we have selected the material we're going to use.

This being the first go-round, I have no illusions that you will find any of these selections ideal. If any of them cause you to question my taste or even my sanity, you are probably correct. That's OK, so long as you get back to me with feedback that leads to our having everything ready by October 20th. That means we should have everything chosen by the end of October 16th.

Please listen to the ones intended for you and get back to me here as to which ones, if any, would be acceptable to you for entrance and exit music/sound. We need entrance and exit sound for each person.

If you have some other ideas of what sounds you would like for your entrance and exit, please let me know. You do not have to choose from what I have provided here. If you are not happy with any of the selections provided for you here, please give guidance, for example:

Feel free to comment on the selections intended for other performers, but please understand that they and the director must be the final arbiters of what is used.

If you're familiar with accessing various kinds of files on the web, you can skip the rest of this section and go directly to the audio files.

Downloading

If you want to download a file, right click (Command-click on Mac) its link and select "Download" from the alternatives offered. Once it's downloaded, you can double-click the file to get it to open.

The audio files are all in "mp3" format, which is extremely common. Most systems will play these without a problem. Again, click the link to play it (probably), or see the previous paragraph if you want to download it.

NOP Audio Files

Each audio file is named for the person for whose piece it is intended, surrounded by some identifying numbers meaningful only to the sound guy. The exceptions are Geoff's samples, which indicate whether they are intended for his entrance or exit.
